-- dancing away!
Someone had hung a pair of sneakers,
a white pair, from the wires across the street �
and they swayed merrily, dangling in gay abandon.
Maybe some didn�t like it.
Or others, like me, found it amusing �
and laughed as they passed under.
I don�t know how long they were up there;
(maybe till the cops saw them).
But such a relief they were �
from perfection.
