DELIVERANCE (This article has been read 54 times) Posted by subhajit ghosh on March 27, 2003 (Thursday) a real-life situation... As the town grew into a city Precious water became a scarce commodity Where there was an uninterrupted flow Things crawled to an excruciatingly slow As the woes of the people continued to mount One began to lose count Number of days it's on discount While administration maintains a silence Conjectures surface Tolerance Acts as a saving grace Never mind whoever's disgraced Plumber makes hay while the sun shines A chorus of disgruntled voices whines Sad tale from a wonderful place Corruption has laced Where rarity was unseen in any form Gradually fast becoming the norm Prayer of hapless fall on deaf ear How long does one have to bear? Swelling number of people sore Will it ever return to the halycon days of yore?

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.

hi avant garde I know I'm a terrible poet, yet dunno why I still keep trying to write verses...maybe that famous quip inspires me to some extent...if you give a typewriter to a monkey and he keeps the keyboard busy constantly maybe in a million years one would find the monkey has actually typed a sonnet worthy of Shakspearean class ;-)
