We can reach there. Lets do it.

Till 1999 we used to think how india should be in 21century. But now when we are in 21century just think how much we have achieved ?

When we talk about science & technology, how much common people understand the basics of this term? Today also in nagpanchami people feed snakes with milk whereas milk is difficult to digest for them. They are kept hungry for 7 to 8 days before nagpanchmi due to which most of them die. Ask somebody who drives a vehicle, what are the harmful gases which are given out of their exhaust pipe which is nearly at the height of the kids going to 1st or 2nd standard. Even today in some parts of bihar infant girls are killed by filling salt in their mouth till they don't suffocate.

It is just like asking Rahul Dravid about baseball or Rabridevi about miss universe contest.

On one side America has developed planes like F117, F22 which were tested in 1983. Even after 17 years these planes are a mistry for others. On the other side india has to buy ordinary and oldtech planes from other nations, and still the fact is that india is among the top ten nations who spend most of their money on defence.

India has a rich culture, oldest origin & great history, agreed. People have left their mark at every step. The best examples are taj mahal, ajanta, ellora, kutubminar, etc. It is the country where there was Gandhi, Veer Savarkar, Tilak again agreed but today unfortunatly there are people like laloo prasad yadav, sukhram, jai lalita, etc. During our freedom we promised that we will try to move from best side to better side. But i think we are going in the opposite direction.

Our generation is going to decide where india is going to stand exactly after 100 years from now. Can we give the same, science/technology & development wise to our grandchildren which other developed nation are giving? Cloths to wear, food to eat & education to each and every person of our country.

I know there are if's and but's. To so many senses we have as an indian, lets add one more sense that is common sense. Let us try to help india to become one more member of G-5. Don't you think so?

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
