Another masterpiece by Suraj Kishen Munshi
1 I am in the softness of Hymeneal bed and in flames of funeral pyre I am in bubbling streams of joy and also in the waves of despair Vain are Wisdoms'guesses, vain Philosopher's musings and Scholor's pain A mystery I am unknown and a desire insane
2 I live in tender dimples sleek of shy damsels burning cheek Far away miles and miles ,from modern women's wanton wiles In the cottages of the lowly and the meek In the simple rustic girls'artless smiles
3 When fond lovers are parting for ever and ever From their throbbing hearts I rise Like a swelling river In the guise of tears I tremble upon the brimming eyes and quiver And when lips are pressed on lips I am their gentle pressure And when to distant lands they go Often in their dreams I linger In the guise of Hope I delight them And live in the memories they treasure.
4 I am in the twinkling of the blue eyes, and wherever beauty lies In brides' fluttering heart, and in lovers' fruitless sighs I am in the nightingales' pleading voice, and in the blushing of the rose I shine in the stars when the day's work in close I am in the hoping of the hope, and in the change of ever changing phase I am in the Mother's whispered fears and in the prattling in the children's winning ways I am in dying man's last thoughts and in his last fazing gaze I am in the roseate light of dawn, and in the moon's silvery rays I am in the ocean's roll of rhythm and in every pleasing shape I am
What stayed with you?
A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
