A surrealistic view of life, called Shadows on the wall, because even leaves swaying in the wind can attain a grotesque life of their own, when seen as shadows

Thoughts in my head Words of hope , dreams Words I have come to dread

Pride goeth before a fall And across stands me, Between us a wall

A day is a walk Taking us away from home Not into light, but dark

Pleasure is but fleeting Pain is only family It is you, life is cheating.

All we are left with To show for life , memories From birth , to our death.

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
