Nothing is priceless for everything can be exchanged. While what we exchange our ideals for can vary, and determine if we laugh or are laughed at, the fact remains that we always make the exchange with the good old human motive of profit.

An innocent wealth of values That we would never alter: Some lost in the alleys of speed, Every turn a principle-martyr. Some fairly swapped for a holding On the bridges to getting smarter. All traffic their troves through life, Some prevail while others falter.

All that we held priceless, The treasures we set our life after, Now stand exchanged, leaving us The flights of fancy we charter. The lion's share of trade and commerce Still belongs to barter; And equal methods have graced the ones Who shower you now with laughter.

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
