A challenge I met presented to writers to expand their ability using each letter of the alphabet to start a sentence which described themselves. Mine turned into a poem.
A- After the rain, I love the smell. B- Bubble baths make me feel very well. C- Chocolate is something in which I delight. D- Dreams are something I have every night. E- Ellen's my name; after my grandmother. F- Finding what's true is what I want to discover. G- Great friends get you through the toughest of times. H- Helping those who are in need makes me feel very fine. I- I like writing and reading; expanding my mind. J- Just gazing at the moon makes me feel calm inside. K- Kindness and compassion seem to be lacking these days. L- Letting my feelings out seems to wash fears away. M- Money is great, but it won't make you whole. N- Not opening my heart dampens my soul. O- Often I sit with my dog on the chair. P- People are far better off when they care. Q- Queens and paupers share the same common ground. R- Resting is something that I haven't found! S- Smiling is good even when times are tough. T- Take nothing for granted - for times may get rough. U- Uncertainty is the only thing that's certain I say! V- Very often it's our attitude, not our problems, that cause such dismay. W- When making a choice I think of the price. X- Xylophones are instruments I think are quite nice. Y- You put me in front of a piano and I'm on my way! Z- "Zing" went my heart as I finished this challenge today!
* A Note: When writing this piece I forgot the letter "N" so I had to start the dang thing all over again! I just can't seem to shake the "poet" in me. As I typed out each letter a rhyme I did see...
What stayed with you?
A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
