What's sorrier is the sight of people who stare death in the face, but are kept alive and mostly in pains, because of the wonderful advances science has made...

The dust returns for the earth as it was, and spirit returns to who gave it you die only once. And if you don't believe in giving quality deaths, it is unlikely you'll get one.

DEATH, if you're lucky, it come swiftly and unexpectedly. Death may strike while in company of loved ones or when you're totally alone.Life, rather good quality of life is proper functioning of senses, optimum intelligence, a loving (successful) marriage, a sense of self-respect In short, quality of life is achieving the best you can, with what you have.

And, giving Quality Death ?? - It may include comforting word(s) are loving care to the person lying on the bed; let the person be loved and cherished till the last moment.

In todays world as we are in the 21st century ,sick one are enforced into hospitals away from their much loved homes. In such condition , they deteriorate rapidly because of no mental or emotional stimulation, no families or friends - only strangers in garb of doctors and nurses.

So, the last few days of life, when one wants to die peacefully at home, are spend in an anonymous hospital bed with overworked doctors, busy nurses, indifferent staff till, finally the dying" is done all alone.

What a sad way to go!!

What's sorrier is the sight of people who stare death in the face, but are kept alive and mostly in pains, because of the wonderful advances science has made.

For, what modern science cannot cure, it prongs. There is definitely a item to fight for life and fight one should, but there is also a time to accept the fact that an old persons' (incarnation) is nearing its end, and give that person dignity and love, care and comfort, understanding and compassion.

Remember, where they are today, you will be tomorrow. So, unless you have given a good quality of death to another how can you expect the same to be done unto you ? Think about it!Don't you want to die peacefully!!!

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.

"giving a good quality of death",self contradictory no...first u cant give Death that is beyond human power u can give someone pain, misery or what ever u wish to but never death,if u believe in what is called human endurance some people just dont crack... second, good quality of death well okay here we have good death and bad death i know what it feels like living so i can say this living is good and that is not (most of the time i m wrong with even that ) do u know abt death so u can tell which death is of what quality...Mr know it all what do u recommend how should we die...jokes apart i m with you dude when u talk abt puritanism in death world is not just abt living but also dying, i like it that u thought abt this [ Reply to this ] Euthanasia unlimited by bullet on April 21, 2002 (Sunday) How you doing? What you are talking about is one of the most controversial topics in america... and your arguments are not even arguments. So, read books and figure out what the real debate is. [ Reply to this ]

thanks for giving some thought on the article; anyway i wud just say that if you are the same amish i knew ...the reply was not yours. I am here not talking about killing people here; somone has to die... all science is on knees. Then why to put tubes all around the body of that guy... 'Die and let die' "IF"(and this is the big IF) u have no choice. hey man be personal just for a second place yourself at their place. have you ever been cose to someone who died because of some cancer... rather s/he was waiting for the death and suffering everyday. Ask any doctor the guy wil tell u the pain of cancer we guys cant ...believe me we CANT even imagine. There are more things like that. dear, Enjoy the cup of life(not of death) to its fullest. Do... "Seek the prayers for the dyin' [ Reply to this ] Euthanasia by bullet on April 23, 2002 (Tuesday) Its obvious that you have no clue what you are talking about mr. author. Like i said before, do some research. Euthanasia is not just about a person sitting on a death bed waiting to be terminated while his family sobs their heart out in hope that one day the person will be healthy again or maybe his/her pain would end soon. We have to consider ethics... For example, is tube feeding for the terminally ill ethical?... Is a human being who is in a coma and cannot respond to stimuli a human being?... Is a doctor playing God when he makes these decisions?... Can we not use the same millions of dollars spent on the terminally ill on some other research?... So, you see, life ain't as simple as my closest friend is on the death bed... you are a social animal, so do some research on the social issues!!! [ Reply to this ]

I'm the same Amish u know/knew (the tense u used) i m aware of all the issues mentioned by u just decided not to repeat all that is out in the open and MR Bullet the researcher vomiting out before the crowd is not everybody's business still..Regardless of illness or disability status, choosing to live or die is a personal psychosocial decision. When others become involved in such decision-making process, the decisions become political, social, and legal decisions. then there are other things like assisted suicide, our SC ruling on suicide euthanasia is legel in some countries Germany .Holland lastr month a woman in UK was granted the right to die blah blah hey Bullet we are social animal alright think u r a Democratic animal typical westmister model... lost do some research ha ha ha [ Reply to this ]
