THE FEAR FACTOR
An unfortunate paradox develops when a society presses for achievement aside from things contributing to the maintenance of life.
We desire some things precisely because they are not attainable by all who maystrive for them the measure of success is determined by who and how many others have accomplished the same thing .The successful person needs those who have failed, and those who have failed need hope that some day tables will be reserved.
There is no total escape from the achievement race, although an alarming number are trying. But the problem in bringing achievement striving in a society is that striving does not always pay off.In fact, achievement striving is somewhat perilous since it exposes the individual to the possibilities of FAILURE
THE value of an accomplishment increases with scarcityIf everyone could do the job, then the accomplishment itself carries little glory . We don't admire others for doing the job we can do. Andwhen we succeed in task few others can perform , we expect to be highly evaluated by others.
FEARFUL OF FAILURE is the one who is simply fearful of loosing value in the eyes of others .in an achieving society success is highly instrumental in gathering esteem and respect, while failure is a standard way of loosing esteem. But there are other ways of maintaining good relations and respect: modesty is one andSelf -confidence another.
ONE doesn't need to invent an airplane or create an empire to pursue a big dream of their own, audacity is an equal opportunity THERE is an intrinsic value in doing things without being the best at itmost clear-cut technique to avoid the failure is by succeeding. But strivingfor success is one of the options least opted by someone motivated by the fear of failure SUCCESS INVOLVES RISK AND IT IS THE THORN OF RISK THAT KEEPS PEOPLE FROM THE SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS
Personal expectancies of success and failure are the function of experiencewith the task. When a person predicts his performance and then performsprecisely in line with the prediction, the value of performance is purelyinstrumental ,having no intrinsic worth. but every so often we savor, the sense of success that goes with doing something we didn't think we could ,for the self-evaluation was wrong .
Perhaps the most common and shrewdest way of avoiding a loss in self-estimate is to prevent the performance from being used to determine the self-estimate IT IS AS SIMPLE some days we are on the top of our game ;on others nothing seems to go right. So simply to avoid this FEAR FACTOR it is as simple to not to set any defying standards for the things you do .As mind troubled by doubts cannot concentrate on victory. Come and come out of this deplorable state of mind because YOU can't WIN until you GO OUT AND PLAY
What stayed with you?
A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
