An Odyssey of my Mind

Every time I feel bored, all I have to do is close my eyes and let my mind run wild. It spins the most fantastic stories and conjures up vivid images.

I can become a prolific writer, a profound philosopher or a meticulous scientist. The world is at my feet, no one can tell me what to do, because I reign supreme.

The world isn’t a friendly place; all you have is yourself. That is exactly why your mind plays such an important role in your life. It helps you overcome the toughest of obstacles, builds your character and also keeps you entertained throughout. Forget television, virtual reality and movies, all you need is your imagination. You could write a story, just think of a theme and let you imagination do the rest. The story will weave it’s way through adventure, drama, mystery, love, comedy and will finally come to the end delivering you a literary masterpiece.

I am an inventor, I have invented numerous things, from a homework helper to a brain filler (assists me to cram for tests). However none of these exist in reality but in my mind these are vital tools for my everyday use. I don’t need any blueprints or a copyright, for nothing can escape my mind. You could be an inventor too, as I said before, just let your imagination run riot.

I spend hours just sitting and thinking. It may sound mind numbingly boring to you, but to me it’s an extremely thrilling experience. I ponder about things that baffled the greatest of scientists, and I draw my own conclusions. I have already solved most of the mysteries of the universe, from our creation to the Bermuda triangle. Ofcourse like many great theories mine too have their fair share of loopholes, I don’t see how that could prove a problem, even Darwin had a missing link. Unfortunately I don’t think a scientific would agree with any of my theories, but then some things are better left a mystery.

Did you know that we consciously only use about seven percent of our brain capacity. I always knew that I was much smarter than what I was getting credit for. I am forced by our fine educational system to learn chapters by heart and memorize dates. I try using my imagination to make studying more interesting too, but am sorry to say that some things just don’t make a difference.

I’m afraid that our journey through my mind has come to an end. Maybe our paths will cross and I can tell you more about my latest invention or my theory on how compact discs work. However till then let me retire to my mind and allow my imagination take me on a different kind of journey, an odyssey through my mind

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
