Know, what is it like...?

What is it like to be an outcast? To be someone who falls out of the crowd and remains there forever, isolated. What is it like to feel lonely; to be swimming in the endless ocean knowing there is no end?

What is it like to stand on the precipice of a high mountain, knowing another step can end your life. What is it like to laugh so much that your lungs practically burst and your tears become unstoppable? What is it like to know that you would die tomorrow and today is the last day you are alive? What is it like to loose all those you love and be pushed towards all those who hate you.

What is it like to kill someone and have their blood all over your body? What is it like to lie bare bodied on fresh snow? What is it like to kiss a butterfly? What is it like to be betrayed by your only friend? What is it like to sleep in a bed of fragrant flowers?

What is it like to get stuck in a situation you just can’t get out of? What is it like to realize the exam’s practically over and you haven’t even started? What is it like to keep a secret everyone wants to know? What is it like to break your most expensive possession? What is it like to live the same day over and over again for the rest of your life? What is it like to be hugged by a stranger?

What is it like to be a part of a stampede? What is it like miss someone you never really had? What is it like to be hit by lightning? What is it like to spend your entire life trying to be the first, and at last, come in second? What is it like to open a bottle of champagne, only to realize you’re the only one to celebrate?

What is it like to take your last breath? What is it like to never sleep? What is it like to be one with God? What is it like to keep trying but never succeeding? What is it like to battle yourself?

What is it like” to live?

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
