Shameful Act

Ten years back, this very day , the most shameful act on Indian soil happened. The very essence of the famed Indian culture was devoured by some religious fanatics. An act to despise indeed

Last night,I was returned from Delhi to Chennai. At the airport I was greeted with really tight security.I,being a frequent flier, was confused at this arrangement. As I waited in the longue, things came to light. It was December 4th, two days hence,it'd be the 10th anniversary of the BAbri masjid demolition. It seems a long time ago.Infact I was not even born when it happened. But to date ,this incident has been a thorn in my flesh.Sadly,India, the country with the undying culture, happened to be the unfortunate land that witnessed this slaughtering of the very spirit of humanity.

The flame of communalism raging in our country today mostly owes to this singular incident , demolition of Babri Masjid by Hindu fanatics. And now every year this anniversary is 'celebrated' by even more barbaric activites all over the nation leading to an unending chain of violence and manslaughter that intensifies each time.Where is this all going to lead ? Rubbing salt to the wound are our own dear politicians for whom Babri MAsjid and Godhra carnage have become the very manifesto and an issue to fan at the threshold of the elections .If the leader's of the nation are going to accuse one another all the time,God save India !! No developmental activites are gonna happen until all this finger pointing ends

Ofcourse the Babri Masjid demolition cannot be justified by any reason.Even if a Hindu temple had stood there ages ago , it doesn't warrant any attack by civilized people of the mordern age.People who talk aloud about Hindutva and stuff like that must have forgotten that the veru essence of Hinduism is God is one and only and he manifests in all living and non living forms. So what's the big deal whether a mosque or a temple stands when the God inside is the same. What's the point in killing people today who were friends last night ?And more importantly what's the point in continuing doing it years later.

I do condem very strongly the satanic act of the demolition, but even more devilish is continuing the chain of events to date.It has been ten long years but the flame is still raging wild.Of course it'll as long as there are people who benefit from the slaughtering that takes place and fuel it to serve their own selfish causes. It'll continue till people become pawns at the hands of incompetent, selfish leaders and kill one another. It'll continue as long as we ignore it even when it stares right at our face.

Killings cannot be justified for any reason, even if initiated by similair incidents. In this mordern age, when civilization is at its peak,it's a pity to note that hatred and misgivings too run wild.People kill and destroy in a frenzy of anger only to repent later. It's high time people from various communities put their differences behind and live together for the commongood

Our famed Indian culture is in tatters right now.Religious tolerance should be cultivated among the laymen.Ill intentions of the politicians should be exposed to the public .We need to put an end to such communal riots , after all we all are humans or is it still so ? !!!!!!!!!

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
