Choice (This article has been read 64 times) Posted by Mita on April 30, 2003 (Wednesday) Seeing is not believing. How you see it, sure is. Sun was rising in the horizon, Pensive night was giving way to daylight. Though the worlds day had begun I tried to stop mine by closing my eyes. Peremptory world gave me no choice. Why did others always decide? With all my grace and poise, I resisted and pushed all these forces beside. A touch of bright ray of sunlight, made me open my eyes. Sun eclipsed to show the hues of dusk. But I knew it was a trick, it was a lie. And then it dawned on me.. Who says a day is a day? Who says a night is a night? When I choose to live, its a day. When I choose to retire its a night. The sun was shining again. I had vanquished the eclipse on my life. The world is not what it is. It is how I see it, which ends my strife.

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.

hi mita.. a very uplifting poem. Felt really nice to see the unorthodox feelings which this poem conveys. I related it to my life and society and found these maverick lines inspiring. A sincere hope that more people think like you do.
