Of Paper Napkins and Pop Music

Lead summary, huh? As if I know what I have written about or where to classify it. Just read it people.
This - is my world Wish I could share it These paper napkins Which I write upon
They are witness To what occupies my mind There's clearly a stupor In the air around
I guess we must thank The pop music And the fancy cocktails Not to forget
The waitress who smiles At the drop of a hat I am sure I fill you with scorn Is this it - "You call this your life?"
"This mindless journey Which you undertake alone - Surely you must have dreams Which are bigger and better"
"Than the dark corner That you occupy In this kingdom of virtual highs This bar - with a fancy name"
"A name - that you cannot Even recall" , you plead I wish you were right In fact I hope so
But the fact remains That tomorrow - I will return Seeking another evening Which makes me forget
The things which I Cannot even remember
What stayed with you?
A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
