The mountain

A spiritual quest...

The mountain stood mighty and gray all alone, every night and day

through passing cloud, storm and rain heat and cold and many a pain

waiting to reach and touch the sky gleaming above in a realm so high

"why aspire, the wind may ask? to achieve such a task

here you stand towering above all yet why do you reach to fail and fall"

"the sky is vast, changing yet same furiously violent yet incredibly tame

could i capture, that infinity in me which the sky is born to be

You have not tried , so why do you lie? i need to try before i die"

so said the mountain great out to change, what seems its fate

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
